such a good sister!!

McKenna loves feeding Rylan his cereal and baby food. It usually ends up pretty messy with most of the food on the outside rather than the inside but they love the bonding time. She makes him laugh by just smiling at him. It warms my heart every time is see them interact. I hope they always love each other this much. :)

Doing the airplane sound!

Messy brother!

Dance class!!

McKenna has been in dance class since the beginning of the year. She absolutely love it. It is only 30 minutes...half tap, half ballet. Ballet is her favorite. She loves spinning on her toes with her arms spread out. I am not sure if it is an actual ballet move but it makes her feel like a real ballerina. She of course likes tap a lot too because she gets to make a lot of noise on those wooden floors. She tries to come home and tap on the tile floor in the entry way. I told her we have to reserve the tap shoes for the dance studio! Here are a couple pictures of my little dancer. Quite the performer!! :)

Kind of artsy but completely by accident!

Ice Skating at Pan Am plaza

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. day. We took McKenna ice skating for the first time today at Pan Am Plaza. She has been so excited to go "real" ice skating since we made out faux skating rink across the street on Eagle Creek reservoir. She spent the night at grandma JoJo's last night so I called this morning and told her the plans. The excitment in her voice was awesome. I couldn't wait to get her on the ice. She really wanted me to go buy her her own "skating shoes" before we went. I told her we should wait and see if she really likes it before we make an investment like that. We walked up to pay and get her skates and she was beaming. So excited for her first ice skating experience. I was a little nervous seeing as I have not been ice skating in about 10 years. We started off along the wall until she got a little bit of a feel for it then she ventured out while holding my hand. Over all we had a ton of fun. My skating feet came right back to me. There were a few tears involved as she fell quite a few time. Her poor bottom was soaking wet and "freezing off" she said but she didn't want to stop. There were a few times she told me "uhh I am getting so frusterated" I told her not to give up she would get the hang of it... and she did. I was so proud of her tenacity. She is definitley hard on herself sometimes if she isn't quick to catch on, I think she probably gets a little of that from me. A wonderful day, we can't wait to go back!

Rylan first cold!

Jimmy was sick last week so inevitably my baby had to get it too. Just a little cold. Runny nose and cough but he never ran a fever and he never let it get him down. Always smiling. I took him to the doctor last friday and the girls were all amazed that he was already sitting up so well and that he was so happy. He was smiling and laughing the whole time. Dr. Jones put him on Albuterol breathing treatments to break up the congestion in his chest. This brings back bad memories of my poor Kenna always having to have treatments for her chronic coughs. :( Hopefully this will not be a reoccurring thing like it was with her.

Here is my big boy taking his treatment so well. I think he actually likes it!!

sitting in sister's princess chair doing his treatment.

Rylan also started bananas and green beans this week. I don't think he was too thrilled with the bananas but was loving the green beans. He ate half the jar!! Can't wait to clean the diaper from that.

fishy face!!

Gymnastics!!

Kenna had gymnastics again this week. She loves it, her favorite is the beam and the foam block pit they get to jump in. Here are a few pictures.

tippie toes :)

What a goof ball!!

Big balance beam. She was loving it!!

Brutally honest :)

I was taking McKenna to met her dad last saturday. Every weekend on the way to drop her off I tell her "mommy misses you so much when you are gone" and every weekend she tells me that she misses me too. This weekend was a different story. I told her how much I was going to miss her and she responded with how much she was going to miss me... About 5 to 10 minutes later she says "Hey mom" I respond "Yes baby?" Then she proceeds to break the news to me. "I have been thinking in my head whether to tell you but....I don't really miss you when I am at daddy's. I always love you but I don't miss you that much." While this kind of made me a little sad, I appreciated the time she took to think about whether or not to tell me and the fact that she broke it to me so kindly. She was so concerned about my feelings. When we got there I gave her a big hug and told her that I know how much fun she has at daddy's and it is ok that she doesn't miss me. She is getting so grown up and becoming her own person. It makes me very proud. Plus her big hugs and kisses when I pick her up on Sunday make up for the whole not missing me thing. :)

Fun in the snow!!!!

McKenna and I went outside today and played in the snow. We had so much fun. This girl loves snowball fights...I think she would have thrown snowballs all night. She was giggling the whole time. Then we built a pile of snow and she was running and jumping into it. She really keeps me young!! We decided to go across the street to the "big water" as she call it, eagle creek reservoir. It was so pretty all covered in snow. We saw three people skiing across the middle. A little scary for me, that is my biggest fear!! We went down to the edge of the water and ventured out to the first 5 feet. It was frozen solid!! We cleared a 4x4 section and had our own personal skating rink. We were slipping and sliding all over the place. Unfortunately I had already put the camera away so I will have to photograph it another time. She thought it was the coolest thing ever sliding around. We had a great time together and can't wait to do it again. It was so peaceful and pretty.

Kenna's pirate eye!!

Don't worry the camera was not harmed in the taking of this picture.

What a great day with my love!

Yuk!! who eats this stuff?

We started Rylan on rice cereal. I have never personally tasted, however it has the consistency of paste and I can imagine it tastes similar. To say he is not a huge fan is an understatment. More of it ends up on him, the highchair, and the walls than acutally ends up in his mouth. I have a feeling he will not be happy with anything until he is eating a filet with a loaded baked potato.

Rylan is 5 months!!

Welcome 2010!!!

Happy New Year!!! Welcome to my Blog. One of my resolutions this year is to make and keep up on a blog for all our family and friends. The kids are both growing up so fast it is sometimes hard for me to capture every moment and memory I want to remember all in one place. Hopefully this will help me to do that as well as share it with all the people we love; especially the ones we aren't able to see very often.

As most of you know I have been lucky and blessed enough to be able to stay home with the kids since Rylan was born. It is my full time job to be a mommy and while I had no idea how exhausting it was going to be, it has been the best, more rewarding job I have ever had. Jimmy gags every time I say it but I get paid in love everyday and that is the best compensation I could ever ask for. Not very effective for buying new clothes...but priceless. I know gushy huh?

McKenna is five already. Never thought five years could fly by so fast. She is starting her second half of kindergarten in Mrs. Hines class at Brown Elementary. She loves her teacher and all her classmates. She is also in her second session of gymnastics and started dance this past week. She loves both will hopefully want to continue. It absolutely gives me chills watching her... I am such a proud mamma! She gets smarter and more beautiful everyday. She is my best friend and I consider it an honor to be her mom and wake up every morning to watch and help her become a little woman.

My baby boy Rylan just turned five months. Everyone told me that little boys are momma's boys, and this one definitely is! However sometimes I think he might be more of a sister's boy. He looks at her with so much love. It is the cutest thing I have ever seen. He has been the best baby since the day we brought him home. It seems like everyday he finds something new and amazing in this world, a feeling I am jealous of and think we should all feel on a daily basis. I hope he never looses that.

These are my kiddo's and the loves of my life. I hope this gives you a small glimpse into our lives and the overwhelming joy I feel every day. Don't get me wrong they have their moments :) but I am pretty much the luckiest momma in the world!
